Back to the Toy Story themed room project. SORRY! I know I promised you all a room update this weekend. The time just slipped away...OK, so without further ado here is the part 2 of the Toy Story themed room. There will absolutely be more parts because I am just getting rolling here! Here is a picture of the infamous $60,000.00 bed that prompted this redecoration. It is a Clinitron Air Fluidized hospital bed that is essential for Carter right now. It is gosh awful ugly but working like a charm. Next to it is what I have done to make it more kid friendly and less hospital like. I added the headboard which is actually a folded down pop up tent in the shape of a rocket and some simple Toy Story bedding from Target. It is supposed to be all fluffy like that. When you lay on it you get the feeling of being in a warm jacuzzi. It feels wonderful. Carter hates it because it feels bubbly all the time. Kids, I swear...Next I added a sheriffs badge which I had custom done to match the toy story themed room super cheap on eBay and we hung parachute men from the ceiling (idea from this Toy Story YouTube) Still to come...Giant Etch A Sketch wall calendar Pictures of all the glow in ...
Toy Story Themed Room | Decorating For Special Needs Kids
Project Objective: Complete overhaul of Carters room into a Toy Story themed room to accommodate the over bearing, over priced ($60,000!!!), and over ugly new Clinitron bed and possible lift system. This new equipment is necessary for his upcoming surgery. He will not be allowed out of it for 6 weeks after a 2 week stay in the hospital. I love Toy Story but lets be honest, at Carters age this is a phase. If it gets him through the in-room prison part of this recovery than that is fabulous---but I am not about to make a permanent wall mural.Google to the rescue....I came across this Toy Story room done by HGTV that has a much more mature look and used it as the general game plan to get started. Progress: Day 1:Room gutted and cleaned Painted all four walls blue Moved dresser and armoire to room and placed along walls to provide as much open space as possible for access. New curtain panels with black out linersPlans:Make a giant etch-a-sketch calendar Use ...
