Searching for a quick and simple DIY stocking stuffer? Consider this easy peppermint lip balm recipe that can be completed in under an hour, perfect for making enough for an entire classroom! This recipe yields 14 full tubes, so you can easily adjust the quantity if you need to cater to a larger group. While it requires a few more ingredients than my lavender orange lip balm, it remains an affordable and straightforward craft. How to Make DIY Lip Balm: Gather the following supplies in your work area. This moves very quickly so you need everything at your fingertips. Melt 1/4 cup Coconut Oil and 2 TBSP plus 1 TSP of the beeswax pellets together over very low heat. Remove from heat. Stir in 15-20 drops of Peppermint depending on how strong you want it. Personally I think 18 is perfect. Poke a hole in the Vitamin E tablet and squeeze contents into mixture. Add 1/4 teaspoon honey or agave nectar. This can turn your mixture into a deeper amber color but it sets up well. Stir well-if you don't get the honey mixed in well you can create this odd amber pockets that turn into liquid quickly in the tube. Line up your tubes (or rubber band them together ...
It’s Tough Not To Like the Kyocera Brigadier
Can your iPhone 6 do that? It's OK to admit the answer you are looking for is, UM, NO? Admit it, you probably just winced a bit when I dropped it. It's the stuff tech lovers nightmares are made of. We pay more money for the Otterboxes to protect our precious phones than the phone itself it seems like these days. But, Kyocera and Bear Grylls would like to put to an end to the daily terror of the dreaded "phone drop". They have accomplished that goal with this tough little phone my guys are fighting over, the Kyocera Brigadier Verizon sent us to test out. Oh, and by the way....the phone came up with a tiny chip in the plastic casing of the phone, about the size of a pin head in the above video. The phone itself was unscathed. While the main feature of this phone is pretty obvious: IT'S TOUGHER THAN A HONEY BADGER....There are a few other things that make this a favorite in this house: Street noise is cancelled out. This has been really useful for my husband making calls while downtown. It's got a heavy, sturdy feel and you're not afraid if it takes a tumble. Built in flashlight means not having to use a third party app. The altitude detector has been great while hiking ...

Everyone knows we go all out for Halloween at this house. Last year I shared how we decorate the outside of the house and use technology side effects to scare little children. This year I thought I would share the inside of the house and how, while you are tricking the kids outside, you can treat the kids inside. Click the picture below to see ideas for stepping up the tricks outside. This year, inside, we are going for anything but scary. We are setting up treats inside with these Halloween bar accessories for the grownups with things I found at Gordmans. Breast Cancer Awareness Month & Vitamix Giveaway
As we can all tell by the pink flying everywhere it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month .... and as a coincidence I had to cancel my mammogram last month. What a crappy thing to do to myself right? You know, kids sick, can't make appointment. But reading all my friends posts about how cancer has touched their lives I know I need to get in. Such a powerful reminder to take care of me! When my friend Lori had breast cancer (she is doing great now) I made her a recipe to help with the nausea and as a joke called it Chemo Moonshine. It is something I really relied on when I was undergoing chemo for Lupus a few years ago. Since I posted it last year it has gone semi-viral on Pinterest and nothing makes me happier than having someone post that it helped or seeing people talk about it on a Breast Cancer board. Seriously, one of my favorite moments as a blogger knowing I actually helped someone going through this horrific fight feel just a tad better. Please click on the picture below for the recipe. I would be honored to have you make this for someone in your life battling chemo. Seeing what a difference posting this simple recipe made for so many people inspired me to say YES when ...
