How To Make a DIY Glass Spray Bottle

June 17, 2015 by barb

DIY glass spray bottle

Have you heard that when using citrus essential oils in any recipe (like Bug Off - Extra Tough) that you need to use a glass spray bottle instead of plastic? It's true. Citrus essential oils leach chemicals out of plastic! If you already knew this you may have gone searching on Amazon or your local store for a glass spray bottle only to find that they are kinda crazy expensive! Stop the madness and make your own DIY glass spray bottle with what you have in the house. How To Make a DIY Glass Spray Bottle Clean any glass bottle that originally contained a natural ingredient (white vinegar, Bragg's vinegar, Perrier) with a narrow screw top opening and clean and dry it thoroughly. KEEP CAP! Fit with a clean and dry plastic spray trigger. The bottles above fit spray triggers I had in the house from other cleaners/projects. If you don't have any you can (affiliate link) buy spray triggers from Amazon here. Do NOT store the plastic trigger spray in the bottle. Cap it off with the original lid so that your spray trigger is not sitting in essential oil mixture leaching chemicals for long periods of time. Remove the original label with a little bit of Lemon Essential Oil (Young ...

Easiest Way to Remove Jamberry Nails

June 15, 2015 by barb

Love doing your nails with Jamberry but having a hard time getting those gorgeous nail designs off? This super easy method to remove nail art really surprised me.

I love Jamberry Nail stickers. I don't sell them or anything....they are just a ton of fun to use as accents to a manicure or pedicure. I usually wear them over gel nails and they honestly only last maybe 5 days on me this way so I needed to  figure out the easiest way to remove Jamberry nails without ruining my manicure underneath. This also works just as well on natural nails. Easiest Way to Remove Jamberry Nails-Step 1: Take an orange stick and gently lift the sticker around the outer edges...its usually peeling up there for me anyway when I am ready to remove. Easiest Way to Remove Jamberry Nails-Step 2: Drop a very small amount (like half a drop) of Lemon Oil under the lifted area. Lemon Oil comes in the Young Living Premium Starter Kit which is a great value (hint: I also have a coupon code there to save you $25). Easiest Way to Remove Jamberry Nails-Step 3: Let the oil sit about 30 seconds on the nail. Slide nail off and rub with a paper towel to remove any excess oil and adhesive residue. Voila! That's it. No damage. Super quick and easy way to remove those cute little nails! Disclosure: I don't sell Jamberry but I linked you to the person who ...

DIY Summer Lip Balm: Spearmint Vanilla Lime

June 3, 2015 by barb

Love this super fun and easy diy summer lip balm using Spearmint and Lime essential oils. Yum!

Summer is off to a great start and we needed some new DIY summer lip balm flavors to help us enjoy the season. I had a lot of fun asking for suggestions on my Facebook page, Crafty Side of Essential Oils, and came up with this Spearmint Vanilla Lime lip balm mixture. DIY Summer Lip Balm Ingredients: (contains affiliate links) 1/4 cup refined coconut oil 2 tbsp & 2 tsps beeswax pastilles or grated beeswax 10 drops Lime Essential Oil (Get a discount on Young Living Premium Starter Kit) 8 drops Spearmint Essential Oil 5 drops organic Vanilla extract-optional 14 lip balm tubes 1 pipette (glass is safest but hard to clean, long plastic are easier to just throw away but get very hot) washi tape, duct tape or scotch packing tape for decorating DIY Summer Lip Balm Directions: Line up all your empty lip balm tubes in a safe place next to where you will be making this. This is a good pattern to put them in (obviously these are already filled) Melt together beeswax and coconut oil in double boiler. Some people make one by putting a mason jar in small pot of water or setting a glass or metal bowl over a small pot of boiling water.  When completely melted ...

Celebrity Solstice Alaskan Cruise Review | Inside Passage

May 27, 2015 by barb

Are you looking to book your next cruise? This Alaskan cruise review may be just the inspiration you need!

6 of us took off  this May on the Celebrity Solstice for an Inside Passage Alaskan Cruise and what an adventure we had. It was a bucket list trip for a few of us and with good reason. Alaska is beyond words awe-inspiring. Everywhere you turn there is something beautiful to marvel at. The massive mountains covered in trees thicker than anything I have seen in the Rockies, whales, bears, bald eagles, float planes taking off and landing, glaciers melting before your eyes, ice that sparkles like aquamarines but are the size of small boats, beautiful Totem poles.....Alaska is beyond my vocabulary so instead I will share simply our experience and photos in this Alaskan cruise review and maybe a few hints to help you get there as well! Here are some photos from our trip: What To Do In Alaskan Ports: There is SO much to do. If there is one thing that I regret not doing though it is Misty Fjords Floatplane in Ketchikan. Apparently the views are spectacular. Ketchikan-Hike Deer Trail. It is about a mile walk to the entrance of the trail and its a good workout. Or visit the Ketchikan museums....we liked Totem Heritage Center (people there were SO nice. Cash only) and Southeast ...
