Lavender Orange Lip Balm

September 25, 2014 by barb

Easy, small batch lavender orange lip balm DIY. One of the best beginner essential oils recipes I've tried. Love the step by step photo tutorials and super creative way to use washi tape.

It's been the week of DIY Essential Oils around here! First I made the bath salts, next I posted about the sugar scrub and today, it's all about the lip balm. Last winter my friend Jennifer from Threaded Together came over with some amazing Peppermint Lip Balm she had made. The stuff was awesome. Then in the summer she made Strawberry Lemonade Lip Balm which was incredible. I am hijacking off her recipe here and want to make sure she gets full inspirational credit. I have been wanting to try this for awhile with essential oils  and finally the perfect combo came to me-Lavender Orange Lip Balm. It turned out great. Here are the directions to make your own! This will make 12 filled tubes. But with the beeswax bag you buy you could make 100's. Lavender Orange Lip Balm Ingredients: Coconut Oil Beeswax 1 Vitamin E capsule (optional) 12 Lip Balm Tubes Glass Pipette I used plastic this time because I was being lazy and the hot oil melted the first one. Buy glass. Young Living Orange Essential Oil Young Living Lavender Essential Oil (Save $25 on the new Young Living Premium Starter Kit) Washi Tape if you plan to decorate them after. Directions: Melt ...

September 23, 2014 by barb

cinnamon vanilla sugar scrub

Ah, its the first day of Fall. The leaves are turning, the air is crisper and the crockpots are on in Denver. Since last week I posted about how to make essential oil bath salts, I thought I would flip the tables today and make a sweeter sugar scrub that my fellow Lemon Dropper friends came up with. Wide mouth mason jars make the perfect container for this. Dress it up a bit and you have another perfect and fairly inexpensive gift for teachers or friends for the holidays! How to Make Cinnamon Vanilla Sugar Scrub Need to order oils to make the scrub? That is easy as making the recipe! How to Order Essential Oils: Read this post on how to get a Young Living discount. ...

How To Make Essential Oil Bath Salts

September 15, 2014 by barb

How to make essential oil bath salts. Super easy method.

Hooked on essential oils? Wondering what to do with all those empty bottles? Easy! Make essential oil bath salts. This has to be the easiest DIY project on the planet. 3 Steps to Make Essential Oil Bath Salts 1. Fill 12 ounce wide mouth Ball Mason Jar with epsom salt. You can buy epsom salt in just about any drug or grocery store. I purchased a 4 lb bag at Target for around $4. You don't have to use a wide mouth ball mason jar but use something glass that closes tight. I like the wide mouth mason jars cause they are super easy to decorate. This would make a great gift. 2. Use any empty Young Living essential oil bottle you would like. Do not clean it out. It's best if it has a few drops left in it. The one I really like to use for bath salts is Panaway. It makes a relaxing soak that helps relieve my sore muscles. Take off the lid and the remove the inner plastic stopper. 3. Place oil jar inside the mason jar of salts. Close up the mason jar tightly. Let it sit 24 hours. The salt will draw the remaining essential oils out of the jar. Gentle shake it up to the move the bottle around every now and then. That's it! After 24 hours you have an amazing essential oil bath ...

Chemo Care Package for Women: A Thoughtful DIY Drink Gift Idea

August 9, 2013 by barb

Chemo Moonshine | Natural Nausea Remedy

When someone you love is going through a difficult season, it’s not always easy to know how to help. Putting together a thoughtful DIY chemo kit cancer care package for women is one thoughtful way to show support. This simple homemade drink is one of the first things I like to include — a small, comforting addition that feels personal and made with care. Why a Chemo Kit Cancer Care Package is Important A chemo kit cancer care package can include items that provide comfort and practical support during treatment. Last year when I was going through a low dose trial of chemo meds for lupus, I found something that really helped with my nausea. Through time I adapted the recipe to where the moment anyone in our family is sick to their stomach, THIS is what they crave. My very special Chemo Moonshine. I have had friends use this for pregnancy nausea relief and it's good for just everyday upset tummies too! Including it in your chemo kit cancer care package can truly be a lifesaver. **First and foremost, this DOES NOT CONTAIN ALCOHOL! It was just a cute name I made up to make my friend laugh. I am far from being a recipe blogger so please bear with me and know you can ...
