Peppermint Mocha Latte Lip Balm
I was needing a new flavor of lip balm when my friend Jillian started chatting on Facebook about how she was infusing her shea butter with coffee. What a great idea. Jillian's tastes are a little different than mine when it comes to lip balm ingredients though so I started playing around with how I could do this using my go-to ingredients and what I came up with is this amazing Peppermint Mocha Latte Lip Balm inspired by her original post. It tastes just like your local coffee shop with a lot less calories! Ingredients for Peppermint Mocha Latte Lip Balm *this post contains affiliate links. 1 cup raw cocoa butter 4 tbsps organic course ground coffee (I used some my son had just brought back from Costa Rica :) ) 2 TBSP Fractionated Coconut Oil (this is the liquid kind) 1 heaping TBSP beeswax pellets (buying pellets is much easier than grating) Lip Balm containers - you can do tubes or tins (this recipe makes 5 1/2 ounce tins) Small crockpot for infusing Cheescloth for straining the coffee grounds Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil (get a GREAT deal on this and 10 other oils through the link) Directions for Peppermint Mocha Latte Lip ...
DIY Great Oily Photos
Hey all. I know oily people love to share shots of their oils but often times the pictures are so cluttered or the bottles so blurred the intent gets lost. I am going to share some simple things you can use at home to help with that and then I will show you all how I have always done it and you can choose which technique works best for you to start taking great oily photos. DIY: Use White Space I am a huge lover of simple photos with lots of white space. What's the simpliest way to start? A poster board or white board (I personally don't like dealing with the glare off a white board but lots of people use it). The Rule of Thirds The poster board is going to be your photo canvas and the chair you are going to stand on and shoot down on the photo so make sure it is sturdy! Now, imagine your poster board has a grid similar to the one below and arrange your items into 1/3 of the canvas. you don't have to be exactly within 1/3 but try your best You could arrange these anyway you like but you are attempting to create plenty of space for text which you will add in whatever app you most prefer. For me that is PicMonkey. DIY Correct Shadows or Add More ...
DIY Lavender Oatmeal Soap
This weekend I had a Make and Take craft party at my house. That is where you have friends over and make simple crafts and have a good time. This DIY Lavender Oatmeal Soap was one of the crafts I came up with that was a huge hit. Here is how it is done. DIY Lavender Oatmeal Soap This post contains affiliate links 1 Square Silicone Mold 2-1 ounce pre-cut goats milk soap base or here is one not pre-scored but with less chemicals. 2 tsp oatmeal (I used Bob's Red Mill Rolled Oats) 1 tsp lavender buds (you will have a lot left over if you buy this 1 lb bag. It seemed like the best deal to me) 5-8 drops Lavender Essential Oil (Buy your Young Living Premium Starter Kit from me and save $25) Melt 2 ounces of soap base in pyrex container on 50% power for 30 seconds in the microwave. Add remaining ingredients in the order above. Pour into silicone mold and let cool. Pop out when cool and hard. The above makes one bar of soap so multiply as necessary to fill your molds. Some of the ladies at the party used Peppermint Essential Oil instead of Lavender and those came out lovely as well. Play with it. ...
