Learning how to make hard candy is really easy. Great recipe and tutorial

I often get asked on the Facebook page, Crafty Side, how to make hard candy. So I was thrilled when Heather Meeks offered to put together this post to show you all. If you haven't seen Heather's recipes yet, she is starting to help out here and just posted an amazing Gingerbread Men Recipe a few days ago. Check her out. She's awesome. But onto Heather's recipe! This recipe is a Christmas favorite in my house. In the years before I used essential oils, I bought cinnamon flavoring from my local grocery store. Oh my, guys...this is so much better! I even branched out and tried peppermint and orange along with the cinnamon bark. They didn't disappoint! Please don't be intimidated by making hard candy, it really is super easy! December 18, 2015 by barb

This is an awesome recipe for gingerbread men with essential oils.

When my friend Heather Meeks told me about her Gingerbread Men with Essential Oils I knew I had to get her to share. She is an amazing baker (did you see her Pumpkin Spice Muffins earlier this year?) and I just knew you all would love these. This is what she had to say: I got RAVE reviews from my gingerbread men! I didn't tell them my secret ingredient but I'm sharing with you guys! The 3 year olds in my class LOVED them! Even my super picky, won't eat anything but a hot dog, nephew! I'd say that was success! Heather adapted her gingerbread men recipe from Sally's Baking Addiction to use the Young Living Essential Oils (there is a great sale on them right now-follow the link) we both love so much. Here is Heather's version: Gingerbread Men With Essential Oils Recipe Ingredients: This list contains affiliate links 10 Tablespoons (145g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature 3/4 cup (150g) packed light or dark brown sugar 2/3 cup (160ml) unsulphured molasses 1 large egg, at room temperature 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 3 and 1/2 cups (437g) all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 Tablespoon ground ginger 1 Tablespoon ...

A Bit About Me…

I truly love the wonderful chaos of motherhood, but as my kids grew, I started craving a different kind of pace and a sense of calm I couldn't quite find.

Moving to the coast, which is my happy place, really changed how I live the day to day. Now, I just try to bring more calm into our days, even though they're still pretty busy.

It's not about making life perfect. It's just finding some balance and little bits of peace in the middle of the happy hustle, letting the salt air work its magic on the chaos.

Knock, Knock! Anyone home?

I no longer participate in PR campaigns of any type. I consider this blog to be in retirement but here for anyone who would like to read. I started this journey in 1998 with a company I named “Chaotic Communications”. I am so happy to have lost that chaotic feeling. Today I have rebranded that life and work to simply “Indigo Ink“. You can click that link to find my latest projects.
